Those DIMPLES!

Everywhere we go
Everybody knows
Asa really glows
When his DIMPLES show.
And when he sees his dad
He pretends to be mad;
Until he picks him up,
Then is DIMPLES are plump.
Asa shows them off
To anyone who stops.
That is one of reasons
His momma likes to squeeze him;
It is really simple,
We truly LOVE HIS DIMPLES!

This is our whole Family...

I think that Tyler and I can both say that we look at our little family and really feel blessed. This holiday of Thanksgiving is certainly when I think of family. My family I was blessed to come into this world and be raised with; the family my dear husband was raised with; and, of course, OUR FAMILY, and our 4 perfect children - smart and healthy and happy... most of the time, ha! :-) Also, our adopted family of friends we are so blessed to have. W do love love you ALL - near and far. You do know this.

Smiles for Miles...

We can say this is the happiest baby and most content of the four. Either that or we finally figured out how to do this parenting thing. At least the baby part. But, he just came happy, and boy do we love that he slept 7 hours at night from birth and 8-9 hours since 2 weeks old. It has been nice to not be sleep deprived. Especially with 3 older kids and their needs. We love this guy in our family. He is so fun and he cracks us all up.

Happy Birthday Angie!

The girls got to go to dinner and shopping while the dads cut up deer and had the kiddos. We went shopping and to dinner at Red Robbin. It was a lot of fun, and we love Angie!

Montana Masacre....

So this is the hunt in Montana......they draw for out of state tags and of course somehow they almost always get to go. They know how to play the system and apply as a group, do the bonus point game, and all of this weird lingo that only avid hunters understand. Anyway, it is always two mule deer... one buck and one doe each. So that is 12 total for the six boys.  Here is Tyler's big and wide Buck.

Here is the buck my dad, Steve Gatten, got. His was the biggest, which is good because he probably put in the most sweat equity getting ready and planning thes trip.
Here is a Picture of the massive harvest of deer...and this is just the bucks. From left to right:

Cousin Kisses

Cade, Ella and Asa showing the love of cousins. How fun to have them all so close in age and distance. The do crack us up sometimes.

Memorial Day St. Joe Raft Trip 2008

Okay, so here are the makings of a fun weekend where the weather is cold and the water is colder... and so the fire is the most precious thing. I know that it is a tradition, though, so we just do it and love it. Thanks to Papa's wall tent with a stove we all stay really warm through the night. Mikin got to sleep in the trailer this year with the new baby Asa. What will be her excuse for the next years to get to sleep in the trailer, ha!

Here is hitting Skookum Canyon!

Uncle Jon and Papa Steve Gatten. He is the Crew Chief. What he says goes. WHhen he says jump, you had better be asking how high! He keeps it all going smoothly and safely. He provides all of the rafting gear for us all to enjoy. He brings way too much food so we get to have and unlimited supply of Snickers bars. We love our Papa. He knows how to plan.

Around the Campfire with Great Grandma and Grandpa Lee.
They have our little Asa on his first campout.
Helen and Asa.
All smiles, as usual.

Great Grandpa Leo Lee has still got it in him to go chop some wood when the fire gets low.
Once a logger, always a logger. His handle on the CB radio will forever be remembered...
"Sliver Picker"

The kids rode in the back of the truck and watched the rafters...

And they caught some Mountain Goats up on this rock ledge... thanks to Uncle Tyler spotting them from the truck. Not every day that you see that.
Some of the cousins and friends in the camp.
Dinner is GOOD.
Ella loves to here Aunt Brynne play around the camp fire.
Noah LOVES the fire...and finding things to burn or melt.

Asa and Daddy.
Zoe is a regular at the campfire. She is jon and Brynne Erickson's dog. It gives Ella someone to play with.
Shawnte' and her dog, Koda.

Ballerina Beauty... Tapping Too

Kiah had her Dance recital in June... and her little brother and sister were so proud of her. It was fun for us to see her show her talents on the big stage at North Idaho College Auditorium.
It was hard to take pictures and I think forbidden...but here is one, kind of. shhhh...
Here she is in the Green Room before the performance in her Tap costume. Her teacher bumped her up to the older girls because she was so good, and so tall. Miss Debbie at LeDanse Studio is her instructor an she says she always thinks Kiah is older. She naturally gravitates to the girls a couple of years older than her. Hopefully we can still keep her young.
Look at that SMILE!

In the Palm of Papa's Hand

We went out to dinner with my Papa Gatten and some of the family to the Pizza Factory. Papa was holding Asa and noticed that he was sleepy. As you can see in the last picture, he tried to hold him different ways but he was fussy, until he found the perfect position where he snuggled in and fell asleep. His little head fit perfectly in the palm of Papa's hand. He held him like that the whole dinner an even managed to eat his pizza with out waking him. How precious is that!?

Handsom Little Penquin

Noah had his pre-K program at Coeur d'Alene Christian School. He was absolutely adorable. It was silly to see penquins in the Spring. Noah LOVED his teacher, Mrs. Dehlbaum. She was like a teacher from out of a movie. Absolutely wonderful. She really will be missed by Noah.

Boating on a chilly day

Ella makes a hesitant face as she nervously lets go of mom to take a picture with Mikin's cousin Sarah Ross and daughter Kyla.
Noah and Kiah LOVE the water an anything on it or in it. Here they are in the front of the boat with cousins and friends.
Kiah and Tyler hanging out. Look at the beautiful place we live! Come visit us any time.

Look at the beautiful place we live! We are so blessed. Come and visit anytime!
We are also glad that friends and family have boats for us to enjoy. This one is Uncle Tim's new boat, and boy is it NICE!
